High Dynamic Range (HDR)

HDR is a feature that lets you take pictures of scenes with very dark and very light areas. The app takes two photos at different exposures and combines them to make one HDR photo. By default the app will save the original exposures and open an HDR editor but this behaviour can be changed from the settings menu.

Now if you're thinking that your phone's lock screen is not working properly. You can create a new Pattern password as normal as you did before the process like nothings happend. This will not hurt your phone's functions if you follow the steps.

Smartphones come with many nice features, and as time goes on, the software that’s loaded onto these devices continues to grow in size. We used to have storage bumps nearly every year, but more recently it seems as though 16GB has become the standard. Luckily, it seems we’re finally graduating to 32GB being the norm, but many folks still have a phone with a measly 16GB of storage. How much of that 16GB is actually available to you? Well, it depends on the device.

When it comes to Android phones, the Nexus 5 has a healthy lead with 12.28GB of available space thanks to stock Android and a lack of bloatware. Sony’s skin is surprisingly light, as the Xperia Z1 offers 11.43GB out of the box. And as you expected, Samsung did the worst by a healthy margin, offering just 8.56GB of space out of the box, which is a little more than half of what is built in. Of course, you do get a microSD slot, but that’s still insane.

The phones used in this chart are only 16GB phones, which is why you don’t see the HTC One or Samsung Galaxy Note 3 included. We’re starting to see more devices mimic the One and Note 3 by coming to market with 32GB of storage built-in, but manufacturer skins and formatting still take up a good chunk of that space. Now that you see how different manufacturers stack up to each other in terms of storage and bloat, what do you think?

HTC One and HTC One mini owners in Canada will soon be served up a KitKat flavored software update for their devices. Six Canadian service providers (Bell, Rogers TELUS, Virgin Mobile, Wind and SaskTel) are now working to certify the latest Android 4.4 build for the HTC One. The Rogers has also begun certification of the Android 4.4 update for the HTC One mini.

Since the Canadian service providers started testing the Android 4.4 update for the HTC One at roughly the same time US service providers did, we expect the KitKat certification testing will wrap up sometime within the next week or two, followed by a staggered OTA roll-out. HTC has made it very clear that its flagship HTC One will be getting Android 4.4 before any of its other devices, so Rogers may have to sit on the HTC One mini update, but we hope that’s not the case. Android 4.4 update for the Canadian HTC One and One mini should be accompanied by HTC Sense 5.5 which is packed with dozens of new features, bug fixes and enhancement to BlinkFeed and Video Highlights. We will share complete change logs for both devices once the updates are certified and pushed out to HTC’s customers in Canada.

Recorded calls are stored in the Inbox. You can change the destination recordings folder to an external SD card as well. You can set the size of the inbox. The number of saved calls is limited only by your device memory. If you decide that a conversation is important, save it and it will be stored in the Saved Calls folder. If not, old recordings will automatically be deleted when new calls fill up the inbox.
You can enable a Call Summary Menu with options to appear immediately after a call.
Search for recordings by contact, phone number, or note.
There are 3 default settings for automatic recording:
Record everything (default) – This setting records all calls except for contacts pre-selected to be ignored.
Ignore everything – This setting records no calls except for contacts pre-selected to be recorded.
Ignore contacts – This setting records all calls with people who are not contacts, except for contacts pre-selected to be recorded.
In the Pro version only: You can set calls from particular contacts to be automatically saved, and they will be saved in the cloud.

Memotion Is A Voice Journal For Android With Emotion Analysis, Transcription & More

 Have you ever wanted to preserve your favorite memories via simple voice recordings? That’s exactly this new Android app called Memotion is all about. Still in early beta and available for free at the Play Store, it is a wonderful, easy to use app that offers its users the ability to quickly save their best memories in a voice diary. And going one step beyond merely offering voice recording capabilities, it uses Beyond Verbal Communications’ analytics engine to analyze the emotional content of each recording you make, letting you embed these emotions in the recording form. Furthermore, its ‘quick analysis’ option can detect the true emotions in anyone’s voice, presenting you with an emotion analysis afterwards.

When you run the app for the first time, it asks you for your date of birth, name, gender and the temperature unit you wish to use. Having specified these details, you’re taken to the app’s main screen. From here, you can navigate to Record, Transcribe (speech-to-text; non-functional in the current beta release), Memories, Quick Analysis, Today, and the Settings screen. Each memory you store is moved to the Memories screen, where each entry can be found labeled for its recording date.

You can embed your emotions in to your voice diaries by recording your voice via the built-in recorder. Memotion enables you to tag friends in your diaries as well. In addition, you can also add images and web links to your diary entries if you wish. Standard tags such as weather, horoscope and new headlines are also added to the the memories.

The Emotion Analysis feature, on the other hand, lets you record an audio clip of 20-seconds or more, which is then automatically uploaded to the Analytics Power engine of Beyond Verbal Communications. Once done, your full emotion analysis report is sent to you, telling you info like your mood groups, temper value, composure meter, temper meter etc. It’s up to you how you make use of this information. While not guaranteed to be 100% accurate, the results can be quite revealing at times.

 


Previously recorded journal entries can be accessed from the Memories section. You can listen to your voice memos anytime you wish by tapping your desired item from the list. The Today screen I mentioned earlier displays general information regarding the current day including your location, weather conditions, and so on.
